Why is the Quality of a Shoe so Important and What Makes It Elegant?

Beyond esthetics, finding the right shoes is more important than you would imagine.  The first thing you notice when stepping into a pair, is how it feels, if it’s uncomfortable in any way, it’ll be the first thing and the last thing on your mind for the duration of the time you’re wearing it. If you buy a pair of shoes made of flimsy plastic or rubber, don’t expect them to last. What the shoe is made of is almost just as important as its’ comfort as it will determine the lifespan of the shoe. If you’re looking to elevate yourself (literally), taking into account the heel size of your shoe can make or break your entire outfit. When all these matters are in place, it will inevitably create an elegant shoe, and you’ll have no choice but to be pleased with your chosen pair.

Shoe Comfort

As previously mentioned, if the shoes you are wearing are uncomfortable in any way, the first thing you’re going to look forward to doing the moment you get the chance, it taking them off. When purchasing a pair of shoes, you must be sure that they’re the correct size in that, there’s enough space for you to wiggle your toes, but snug enough that your foot isn’t sliding around inside it. Another thing to look out for especially if ordering online is if the shoes are shown to be more wide or narrow. If you buy a pair of shoes that are the correct length but they still feel tight, then you most likely have wider set feet and when picking out a pair of shoes, looking for a ‘W’ next to the sizing will help determine if the shoes are wider fit. After you pick out the correctly sized shoes, if the pair doesn’t have the added cushion support for comfort (this is often found to be the case in heels), you can always add insoles to either your heel or the padding near your toes, this will likely relieve that common discomfort that high heels often cause. If you wear heels to outside events where you might walk through grass, there are heel caps you can purchase on Amazon to prevent you from sinking into the ground. And remember, buying an expensive pair of shoes does not always guarantee its comfort, so always be sure to check everything off this list for a more confident purchase!

What is the Best Shoe Material?

If you’d like your shoes to last and enjoy extra cash in your pocket, then you’ll want to be certain that your shoes are made of high quality materials to avoid needing to spend more money on replacements. The most durable material currently on the market is leather. Leather is not only long lasting but over time it will make way and flex around your foot impressions creating something like a footprint. When purchasing leather shoes, it’s also a good idea to have a shoe cleaning kit for them as well as leather conditioner to help make its long life last a little longer. Textiles are also a good option. This includes materials such as cotton, wool, nylon, and polyester. These materials make for a stronger, more lightweight shoe that’ll allow your feet to breathe a little easier. You will need to be a little more careful with the textile shoes however, as they are more prone to becoming dirty than the leather is.

What is the Correct Heel Height?

When looking to add a little more pep in your step with an added heel to your shoes, heel size will do a lot in determining the comfort and how well put together your outfit will be. Starting off with the kitten heel (2.5-5cm tall/1-2inches tall), these will be your most appropriate heel to be matched with any attire or occasion at all. Their elegance, although minimalistic, will not go unnoticed as they are a softer way of showing your advanced taste in style and fashion. Now, although they are amongst my favorite type of shoe, if the kitten heel you choose happens to be amongst the open-toed ones, please be sure that it has at least one strap across the front of the foot and at least one around the ankle. Otherwise it will create a very uncomfortable experience for you to walk in as you’ll constantly be struggling to keep your foot attached to the shoe as I have in the past. Next comes the intermediate heel (~8.3-10cm tall/ 3.3-4inches tall). If you’re looking for a stronger, bolder (yet still classy) look then this is the heel size for you. For business attire, it will help you to appear more confident in yourself, and in more flirty/casual wear, it’s an excellent option for going out on a date or having a nice dinner. Anything taller than  8.3cm-10cm/3.3-4inches I would typically avoid wearing as it may come off as being too loud and is often difficult to pair with any attire while still aiming to be elegant.

What Shoe Colors Look Best?

And finally, to wear red or to not wear red? Adding color to your shoes can be a fun way to bring in the spice that your outfit needed or you can choose to go neutral to maintain that well manicured look. When you find yourself looking in the mirror, and you have a big presentation ahead of you or you’re going out on that very special date, bringing in that bold touch to your otherwise clean yet fancy outfit can make your positive interaction into a more memorable one as it will make onlookers believe that you’re more assertive and perhaps exciting! Don’t get me wrong, going neutral in your shoe of choice can also be the correct choice. If you’re going out and the idea is to be more comfortable in what you’re wearing and you simply want your attire, jewelry, and shoes to flow nicely together then going neutral would be the right idea especially if you’d like to avoid any fashion fails and would rather just look well put together.
